Facts About Pallets

Pallets Move the World! According to the National Wood Pallet & Container Association, over $400 billion worth of American trade is exported on wooden pallets each year. Wooden pallets make up over 93% of the pallets in the material handling industry, and over 175 million wooden pallets are re-furbished or repaired each year.  Wooden Pallets are also considered one of the most recycle-able materials in the United States.  Pallets literally move the world, but we can always do more to help protect the valuable resources that produce pallets and keep our economy going. 

Trees and Deforestation

  • 80,000 acres of forests disappear from earth every day (one football field every two seconds)
  • 80% of the world's forests are already destroyed
  • 70% of the world's plant and animal species live in forests
  • Forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people
  • The world's rainforests could vanish in 100 years at the current rate of deforestation
  • The pallet industry accounts for 10-15% of all lumber produced in the United States-more than any other single use other than home building.   

How We can Help - One Tree Planted

In 2018, the Cedar Box Company formed a partnership with One Tree Planted - a 501C3 charity committed to worldwide reforestation projects. We are committed to replacing as many trees as possible through a mutual pallet sales and tree planting program.  ​​For every 100 used pallets sold by the Cedar Box Company, our team will plant one tree in an area that needs reforestation and conservation.
