Why You Should Consider Custom Packaging- Printing, Style, and Size.

When we first speak with a client interested in custom packaging, we get a host of questions-what do I need in advance? How do I design the packaging? What decisions will I have to make? How much more does it cost?

We give them one answer: "Don't worry!"

Custom packaging is surprisingly easy and attainable. As long as you have a vision, we will do all the dirty work for you. And we are eager to touch base along the way to make sure the packaging comes out just how you want it. Branding doesn't stop with your logo or website, it must be carried out all across your packaging design.

For the most part, you and your team have to make only three basic decisions in your custom packaging journey. The rest, with a little bit of your help, is up to us.

1. Printing
Perhaps most important for an aesthetically pleasing box is the graphics, text, and colors that will be printed on the box. There are no hard and fast rules about printing a beautiful box, but if there was one piece of advice the team would give you, it'd be to keep it simple. Clean, uncomplicated designs look the best, are most memorable, and represent your brand in the best light. Imagine how much better your printed box will look next to all those plain brown boxes out there. On top of this, a custom box typically runs only about 5-8% more than a stock, standard box.

2. Style
In the box business, style is everything. Depending on what product you're selling or shipping, different styles can be used to supplement your product. Some things to consider in advance of deciding a style is:
  • How are you packaging the item?
  • Where is it stored?
  • How will the item be shipped?
  • How is your customer going to open/interact with the box?
If you're not 100% sure about all of these details, our associates are very knowledgeable on every style of box and will help you determine exactly what you need. There are hundreds of box styles to choose from-take a look here.

3. Size
Determining the proper size is the easiest way to save money on packaging. If you are currently using a box bigger than necessary for your product, you are paying for all the unnecessary cardboard you're buying. A bigger box also means bigger shipping costs. Cedar Box Company has the capability to make a box to exactly the specifications you need.  All things considered, it's possible you can save money by making the switch to custom.
Ultimately, a step up to custom packaging is going to have huge rewards with a modest increase in spending. Good packaging doesn't have to expensive. With some good ideas and the execution of our team, you will see huge benefits from moving to custom packaging by Cedar Box Company.
